With Michaelmas roaring to go, there’s no better way to keep up with everything Oxford than listening to the Blue Spotlight! Get to know who you’re listening to as we welcome a brand new podcast team this term!

Thripty Dutt, Senior Editor

Hi, I’m Thripty (trip-tee)! I am a second year law student at Worcester college and the current Senior Editor and Co Presenter of the Oxford Blue Spotlight Podcast!! I’ve always loved listening to podcasts whether its a walk around a lake, washing my dishes or trying to pretend I’m not sat on a noisy, tightly packed coach for the next two hours. But the only thing better than listening to podcasts is being involved in the making of one! The aim this Michaelmas is for you guys to feel that too! My team and I are incredibly excited to bring you all interesting, relevant and fun “food for thought” this term alongside, a new form that lets you directly be a part of the conversation. From current politics to oxford traditions and challenges, freshers horror stories and more. We can’t wait to bring Oxford back into the Spotlight!

Emma Catterall, Junior editor

Hi, I’m Emma and I’m a second year law student at Jesus, and one of the Junior Editors for the podcast for Michaelmas Term 2022. A lot of the societies I’m involved in are quite law related so I wanted to join something that was different and that’s why I joined the podcast, further away from my tute essays than the other sections on The Oxford Blue! As a junior editor, I will be recording and editing episodes of the podcast. It should be an open discussion between us and the audience on each of our topics!

Zariel Konadu, Junior editor

Hey I’m Zariel, first year Human Sciences student and your podcast host for the new podcast series. As a host I have the opportunity to express the ideas that inform, advise or even provide an escape from the chaos of student living. I was drawn to this role naturally as a huge people’s person and conversationalist. I am thrilled to be producing new content for you all and being part of such a great podcast team.

Anna Barrett, Junior editor

I’m Anna, a 2nd year at Exeter College studying Classics and Italian and I’m super excited to be a part of the podcast team this term. Currently, I’m mostly working behind the scenes but I might pop up on a couple episodes so keep your ears peeled! Looking forward to a super term ahead of interviews, discussions, and interesting tid-bits on The Blue Spotlight for all our eager listeners.

Lay Mohan, Junior editor

My name’s Lay and I’m a second year PPE student at Exeter. I’m working on the editing side of the podcast for the summer and Michaelmas, and I’m excited to be part of this relatively new section alongside such a driven team. I’m looking forward to engaging in the process of building a podcast and all that that entails.
