Oxford University has announced a new Graduate Scholarship Scheme for Ukrainian Refugees, offering financial support for those pursuing further study at the University of Oxford despite having been displaced by the Russia-Ukraine War.
Owing to the generous support of the University, its constituent colleges, and donors, The Graduate Scholarship Scheme for Ukrainian Refugees shall offer 20 fully-funded scholarship places to successful applicants, covering one-year of full-time postgraduate courses for the 2022-23 academic year. Courses covered range from Masters in Archaeological Science, to Diplomatic Studies, Celtic Studies, and Fine Art.
Each scholarship available covers one year of course fees, as well as providing a further £7,500 grant to cover living expenses for the entire duration of the course. Participating colleges will also be offering scholars free accommodation and meals at times when college kitchens are open.
Oxford University has a long-standing commitment to refugee scholars, with Somerville College being recognised as one of the UK’s first University Colleges of Sanctuary.

It has been inspiring to see the speed and unanimity with which the colleges have rallied to support this important new programme. In time, there will be more for us to do in order to lessen the impact of this terrible war – but this scheme will give Ukrainian students a chance to rebuild their lives now, which is invaluable.”
