From 9:10pm BST, Oxford SU announced the results of the Hilary Term 2022 SU elections. 29,049 votes were cast in total by 3704 voters. Jesus College cast the most votes.

PRESIDENT

Michael-Akolade Ayodeji was elected as President.

A total of 3073 votes were cast in this election.

VP ACCESS AND ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

Jade Calder, a third-year History student at Wadham College and co-Chair of the SU Class Act campaign, was elected Vice President for Access and Academic Affairs. In her manifesto, Calder promised to expand the UNIQ+ program for prospective postgraduates, and to explore the introduction of a reading week.

A total of 2655 votes were cast in this election.

VP CHARITY AND COMMUNITIES

Anna-Tina Jashapura, a third year Geography student at Mansfield College, was elected Vice President for Charities and Community. In her manifesto, Jashapura promised to campaign for all colleges to implement plans to reach carbon net-zero by 2030.

A total of 2558 votes were cast in this election.

VP WELFARE & EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

Grace Olusola, a third-year History and English student at St. Catherine’s College, was elected Vice President for Welfare & Equal Opportunities. In her manifesto, Olusola promised to provide welfare training for student societies, form consultation groups with suspended students, and work with the Counselling Service to support students with chronic illnesses such as long Covid.

A total of 2879 votes were cast in this election.

VP WOMEN

Ellie Greaves, a third year Historian at Oriel College, was elected Vice President for Women. In her manifesto, Greaves pledged to and to continue work with the It Happens Here campaign.

A total of 1378 votes were cast in this election.

VP GRADUATES

Shreya Dua, a second year MPhil student in Ancient History at Somerville College, was elected as Vice President for Graduates, having run unopposed. In her manifesto, Dua promised to lobby the university to increase the accessibility of resources and welfare for graduate students.

A total of 2392 votes were cast in this election.

The team of newly elected Sabbatical Officers will take up their roles in the summer of 2022 and will serve for the duration of the 2022-23 academic year.

NUS DELEGATES

Aditi Premkumar, Anas Dayeh, Ciaron Tobin, Alexander Nowak, Mosopefoluwa Sarah Akintunde, Mundher Ba-Shammakh and Serene Singh were elected as NUS delegates.

STUDENT TRUSTEES

Uri Sharell, Serene Singh and Daniele Cotton were elected as student trustees. A total of 1,977 votes were cast in this election.

RAG CHARITIES

Oxford Poverty Action Trust and Oxford Pride (Local) and Amnesty International and Donate for Refugees (National) were chosen as RAG Charities.
